The design of this hood helps with getting into tight spaces and overall comfort. Very lightweight and protective. I have the genesis box and a traditional wood box. I have not used the genesis enough to speak on it but is comfortable out the box and works for welding on the bench. The wooden box is still hard to beat but time consuming to fit to ones face.Overall a good product
good
I have the carbon ultralight gen 2 with the genesis eyebox and it’s by far the best hood I’ve ever had. Super light and easy to get into tight spots, the only complaint I have is the rubber in the eyebox that sits on your face comes lose. The screw pulls out occasionally when pulling it down. Could be my fault having it tighter than normal due to welding in weird out of positions and fear of dropping it. It’s not a game changer though. Even though they pull out I’ve never had it sit on my face out of position. I just put a small washer on it and no more problems. And the head band pulls off of the brackets that hold it to the hood. Again probably user error and pulling it too tight. It’s a super easy fix by threading it back into position. They might even have a better solution now I haven’t looked. But these are super easy to overlook because of the quality overall in this design. I show everyone and tell them it’s the best hood I’ve ever owned. I will definitely buy again when I finally break this one.
These hoods are way lighter and definitely worth getting. And noticably lighter. Even other ppl who have not felt one pick it up and are say "damn thats light" 🤙🤙 carbon fiber is where it's at yall
