Holy cow ! First impression out of the box ,this product is indeed designed by a welder for welders, man I've used a lot of different hoods ,from expensive to cheap harbor f, this one is absolutely amazing, I was looking for a better designed flip window in order to avoid scratching my lenses (they aren't cheap) and with enough room for them (alloweld lenses are thick),well this one is perfect, I took the time to check every single part of it and it's really nice designed, you guys should point in your advices more about the head gear as well ,it's awesome, even more comfortable than the ones that lincoln 3350adv have ,overall it's a really well designed and constructed hood ,I was about to get the carbon fiber variant but I'm not sure if my work allows me to wear it due to safety normative but I'm gonna check because I really would love to get one, thanks !
Perfect everyday hood for all types of welding. Very light weight, super durable. Only thing I’ll ever replace it with is the carbon fiber version!
I purchased the ECO Sugar Scoop with the large auto-darkening lens. I've used Honeywell pipeliners for years but the variety of work I do warranted an adjustable lens instead of 2-3 helmets with different shades. I'm very surprised at how good this helmet is. It fits similar to my old sugar scoops and is quite light. The auto lens is really good - excellent clarity and response with easy adjustment. My only complaint is that the headgear doesn't hold the helmet up very well. I still like to lift the hood when done and this one tips easily. On the other hand, the headgear is super comfortable. I'm still considering swapping it out for the honeywell gear. Overall, excellent product and tremendous value. Would love to try the carbon fiber version out!

My favorite all time weld hoods are the Jackson Safety Huntsman 490P and the Lincoln Viking 3350. Big fan of the Honeywell Tigerhood also, but it's a weighty beast.
I purchased the CMR Fabrications ECO Sugar Scoop (large view) and I have to say it's an excellent hood. The carbon fiber one is pro-grade, but probably more of a shop helmet because OSHA.
The ECO is a bit on the heavier side, but feels lighter than a Tigerhood which makes it bearable. The ECO looks like it's made with fibre-reinforced plastic, so you're not breaking it anytime soon, and the ceramic fibers means you'd probably have to hit the thing with a torch to bake it. I expect zero warpage, and fully expect to burn out the cartridge before the hood fails.
The auto darkening lens is on par or better than the Viking 3350 - I'd dare say it's better. The ECO's outer and inter cover lenses are generic, so all weld and gas stores will have them, or they can be scavenged off dusty fixed shades around old fab shops in a pinch.
My only complaint is that the helmet flip down is finicky. Ofc, this one is an auto, so helmet flips are rare. Besides, helmet flips are only for style - flip lenses are available these days, so save yourself neck surgery when you're older and avoid it.
TL;DR: This hood is hard hitting and has a dynamite lens. 100% this should be anyone's starter hood, and if you somehow managed to destroy your Tigerhood/Pipeliner by slagging it into a melted mess, pick this up.

We designed the ECO to be durable, practical, and jobsite-ready, so hearing that you expect to burn out the cartridge before the hood fails is exactly what we like to hear.

I have had a few welding helmets like a Miller Digital Infinity / Elite, an ESAB, and a Optrel. I bought this ECO Sugar Scoop to have a lightweight helmet that I could use outside / mobile welding. It is a great hood. The thing is light and very comfortable. I really like the head gear. It is simple and it works. I have a 2x4 Miller lens in one without the flip with I initally bouth and later I bought another to try with the flip up and a Tefuawe lens. Great value, great hood, and I'll certainly recommend them to anyone who I come across.

I got this for my birthday and absolutely love i have the 5-13 true color arc lens on it and it is so clear i can see the puddle best hood i have I would recommend it if you’re on a budget
Best hood ever! This the real definition of heavy duty hood I got my first one 8 months ago and I just got my second one this last week I’m in love with it I highly recommend for any welder out there this thing are made to last.
I picked up the eco scoop as a backup to keep in the truck. I've been pleasantly surprised by the weight and balance of this hood and can't wait until I have an excuse to pick up the carbon version. The flip-up is great and seems well made.

was one of the many to get on the preorder for the eco scoop as I had never had a sugar scoop before and didn’t want to to spend a a bunch of money but it was worth the money ever cent of it the build quality is amazing and I have the flip up installed on it to which is best part the only thing I didn’t like was the headgear I use a different kind but don’t like that bother you it’s still good
Only hood I’ve used in my 10 years of welding is a Viking 1840 series. Finally time to upgrade and I got the eco scoop with the flip up attachment. I got to say it’s very light fits better in tight spaces compared to the Viking. I also get less sparks inside the hood when ding position welds. I would get sparks in the Viking when coming down/up around 3-6 o’clock. Head gear is comfy but it’s also my only complaint. Hood wouldn’t stay up so I kept tightening the fasteners and still the hood would come down until I accidentally broke the fastener and head gear. I can still use the hood but now looking for a replacement on the head gear. Otherwise great product and affordable.
I’ve had mine for a few months now. I really like it. It is far more comfortable than I expected. I haven’t had any issues.
This was my 3rd CMR hood and I love it as much as the others. Mine was one of the pre-order first runs and despite expecting some possible issues with it being a brand new product it was flawless. I've never had an issue with my CMR products and the customer service is second to none. If you're looking for a comfortable, lightweight, high quality good looking welding hood this should be your next purchase.

The first one I received had a bad flip-up on it. I called and left a message about it. Cody called me back about 30 mins later and sent me another hood with a good flip-up. Awesome customer service. I’m really picky with headgear. All my different sugar scoops have the same fiber metal headgear on them. But this one I’m keeping the headgear it came with. It’s nice, comfortable, and flexible. Overall great hood so far.
Continues to exceed my expectations. Extremely durable, considerably light, and comfortable to wear. I recommend this hood to anyone who welds for a living.
